Propeller Tool session survival

Usually my PC is left running - or sleeping - so then this is not a problem, but-
After starting my PC and opening up the Propeller Tool to continue work, I each time have to dig down into directories to find the area where my work is, then open up the objects/tags I worked on when I left it last time. The only 'shortcut' there I have found is to open the top level object, hit compile, and then pick the child objects I need from the Object view window.
Surely there must be a way to preserve the session from last time, so that when I start the Tool I can directly be back into the environment I was? I cannot find any such options anywhere.

the left side of the screen to open it. PropellerIDE tool opens automatically with the last file you were working on.
Do I read between your lines that I should go and have look at PropellerIDE instead? Is it a better IDE?

As far as which tool to use I have both and sometimes I use both of them.
Opens with a single tab containing whatever file was in the tab you were viewing when you last closed it.
Any other tabs that were open when closing get forgotten.
That's OK if the visible tab on close was the top level object. Then the sub-objects are listed in the pane on the right side.
If the visible tab on close was not the top object then one has to manually find and open it.
This is not normally a problem as your top level file is usually in the "recent files" list on the file menu.
so if it is not the top level file program you will still have to hunt down whatever program you are looking to use.
Why is there no Edit>Preferences>Working directory?
Any ideas?

Edit: My library is set to C:/ProgramFiles/PropellerIDE/spin/
Build does not help. I need to mobilize patience...

I did have a problem when I first downloaded Propeller Tool V 1.3 and installed it, but don't recall the exact details. I then Uninstalled both V 1.3 and the older version, deleted the Parallax folder, and then downloaded and installed V 1.3. Worked fine after that with all the settings left at default.
It opens at PropellerIDE default directory. So, yes I could move all my files there. But that does feel kind of nineties...

I guess I have two options; re-install, and never put files a place of my own chosing, but stick to default - or - kep the PC always powered up, never shut down.

My Propeller tool is not real happy if you delete the last Spin file opened or it is on a removable drive that is not there anymore.
But I use the same folder "spincode" for both the Propeller tool and PropellerIDE. I wonder if you are able to navigate to your Spin
programs you want using the open icon?
All the programs I write go in a sub folder in my "Propeller Projects" folder, and objects I write or modify go into an "Objects" sub folder before being copied to the Library folder. Combined with a "Shortcuts" folder on my desktop it helps keep everything organized, easy to access, and simple to back up.
Propeller things in the parallax folder and I never put programs in the default programs and examples locations. I am wondering if Erlend can navigate to
Spin programs?
Here's more: with PropellerIDE, I did an Edit>Preferences>Appearance= 'Classic' in order to get the classic font and thereby restore formatting. It works, but after Exit and restart it is forgotten. This all looks like there is (supposed to be) some cfg file of some sort somewhere that doesn't work as it should, doesn't it?

what to do. If your not getting the same program that was open when you exit the program when restarting I do not have a clue.
Edit: I posted a picture of my setup you may have to zoom in to see it.
Here's mine. Nothing exciting.

Right now my Default Programs is set to PropellerIDE. You might take a look in Default Programs / Associate a file type or protocol to see what Spin is set to.
Btw, I am on Win7.
