    Ha ha, the other one!

    Welcome Zakia,

I can only give you the same "warning" as Miguel:

You certainly have your work cut out in Propeller tech support. The Propeller is a rather "odd" device and it's users are correspondingly odd.

I don't mean that negatively, there are a lot of very talented and creative minds frequenting this place.

    Sorry for repeating myself.

    Have fun!

Zakia & Miguel, welcome to the forums, and to Parallax. You will find this one of the most friendliest forums I have ever seen. And as for Parallax, what a company - friendly, open, and helpful - nothing like I have seen in my 40 years in the industry.

    Welcome Zakia.
I am sure you have already been briefed about Heater. (Odd, very odd).

    Loopy,

Maybe you should have put a smiley face after that sentence. We all know Heater can be very helpful,

No worries there. I take "odd" as a compliment.
We all know Heater can be very helpful,
    Thank you.

Yes, Heater can at times be very helpful. But he does like to have exercise his wit. I poke fun at his bombastic side (which seems to confront my own).
As for myself, I haven't figured out how to put a smiley face after a sentence, unless you mean this :-)

Everything in moderation makes the Forum excellent.

    Loopy,

I quite like the "bombastic" thing as well. Just call me Shaggy : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5K5Dm-o_MEs

Err..perhaps not. I'm still trying to figure out which part of the many nuances or "bombastic" you mean? Or is it all of them?

If you want to be happy just use a colon and a closing round bracket next to each other :)

    A. Yes indeed, a word can have more than one meaning of which some may compliment and some may depreciate.... a great source of irony.
    B. Where is the fun in precise clarity?
    C. The study of semantics merely deepens the quagmire.

I suspect this is all very daunting for the new Tech Support folks.

I'll go back to building a personal lexicon of words that compliment and insult at the same time... just to keep Heater on his game. :):)

Hey Zakia! Thrilled to have you on the team! You're off to a fantastic start and you're working with a great colleague Chris Savage. The only problem you will have is that you are separated from the office goon by a single half-wall that will sometimes seem like it needs better soundproofing and far more visual obstruction. Until you raise the wall and add soundproofing, use your cubicle "prairie dog" skills and I'll always reply back.

You also speak French and Arabic, two languages we welcome on our team. The French won't take us seriously until you speak with them in their native tongue. And we can finally start selling efficiently in Dubai of the United Arab Emirates, a market I'm working to develop.

We are happy to have you on board!
