We got rid of ours, the thing is not only intrusive, it's for the terminally lazy who can't be bothered to get off their duff for 5-10 minutes and do a bit of vacuuming.

I've got 3 of the Roomba 500 series machines that have been working diligently for years saving me form most of the vacuuming. I think that they do a pretty good job of cleaning, mostly because they go slow enough to suck up dirt that moving a regular vacuum cleaner too fast misses. However they do grab onto cords, socks, anything they can (including hair) and not let go. The other potential downside is that they break in complicated and interesting ways. So I've spent a good amount of time learning to repair them. However, I much prefer repairing electronics to vacuuming!

I've got a stack of older Roombas sitting around waiting to be Frankensteined together. Each has a minor different thing wrong. Maddening. And I LIKE robots! Long ago, I also bought the wife a $400 Scooba mop which is a total PITA. iRobot batteries on both are famous for having one NiMH cell go bad and stopping the show. Even when they work right, it's still a fair amount of work to prep, use & clean them.

I'm amazed they are still very popular in spite of their foibles.

Roomba's are for taking apart and reassembling into better things..Important things..Things that NEED to be done...

I know they don't make the best vacuums, But, if you tie some yarn to the back of one, it could be a cool cat toy...
