Ah, a wooden bicycle! That made me have to rewrite a little ribald jingle I learned soooo many years ago.

"Going down the hill doin' 90,
when the FRAME of his bicycle broke.
There he lay in the grass
with one thousand slivers up his ###,
and tickled to death by a spoke!"

I do like the idea of a bamboo frame better, since it's a more immedaitely renewable resource, compared to hardwood. But those prices! Whoa!

'Reminds me of a trip I took with a friend many years ago to a bicylce show in Seattle. He made a multi-thousand-dollar deposit there on a titanium bicycle frame. Well, whatever. I don''t judge those who have it for enjoying their hard-earned cash. Then we went to Costco, where he groused endlessly that a case of cat food had gone up a penny a can. I still rib him about that!
