Just saw this project where kids 3D print, assemble and program a plush character robot. Looks pretty engaging and very different from most other educational kits out there. $600, watch the video.

    Hmmm .... We just received a $10K STEM grant that I helped write for my youngest daughters school ... still looking for ideas to help spend the money wisely and effectively. The age range is from 3rd grade to 5th grade.

    As a volunteer robotics educator who struggles under an austere budget, I have to ask: where does that kind of money come from? Is it a national program or just locally endowed?

    Phil,

    The grant was applied for through the school as part of a local government grant where I collaborated with one of the teachers to help put the grant together. The grant we received was for $5k but through an anonymous contributor our grant was matched with an additional $5k.
