"Vape" LiMNCo batteries, as alternative to LiPo cells?

Hello.
I was checking internet for high drain, high capacity and relatively safe alternatives to LiPo batteries, and came to various "vape" forums, where people discuss high capacity, LiMNCo batteries and cells.
I liked them for several reasons:
Unlike LiFePo4, which requires circuit modification to work and charge properly, these have same voltage curves, so existing gear will work flawlessly.
They are encased in relatively hard metallic shell, which makes them much more fail safe against drops, puncture and stress, compared to LiPo
Their capacity is not so low as LiFePo4, and approaches yesterday's LiIon cells (average 2000mAh per 18650 cell).
So they seem to be an excellent choice. Anyone tried them in high current drain robots, copters, diy projects, etc, instead of LiPo ?
