passing parameters in pasm

I have been trying to pass parameters from spin to pasm. Only able to get one to work cannot get additional parameters to be passed. Tried several of the solutions and tutorials on the forums at parallax. Not working. I understand the concept but it is not working. Running a stepper. Can get the speed to work but not the selected pins on the prop. I am learning PASM.
I have tried many of the solutions seen on the forums to no avail. What am I missing, or do I have something out of order????

The first part of your PASM code should look like this:

start   org 0                  'Begin at Cog RAM addr 0    
        mov temp1, par         'start at par
        rdlong getspeed, temp1 'read the value from the first long
        add temp1, #4          'move to next long
        rdlong pinmask, temp1  'read the value from the second long
