CIE Using BASIC Stamp for Automation & Robotics Lab

I recently received mail from Cleveland Institute of Electronics advertising 2 new courses they have and when I opened their Automation & Robotics with Lab flyer a pic of a Boe-Bot was listed under their Robotics Lab. Also, under Microcontrollers and Robotics they list the use of Parallax Inc.'s BASIC Stamp micro for the hands-on exercises.

I thought this was pretty cool.

Here's a link to the course on the CIE website:

Very cool, JonM! For the first time ever, I wish I lived in Cleveland. :)

I, for one, am tickled that the Stamp is being used in an industrial training setting!

Since 1996 or so I've been putting the Stamps to work in pulp mills, truck scales, marine railways, tree harvesters, sewage treatment systems and lots of other applications. Naturally, each of these applications required a training program for the maintenance guys. The Stamps are a good, solid product with consistent performance and great documentation.

    Go Stamps!

    Cheers,

I agree - the Basic Stamp is a great platform for instrumentation and automation. I built dozens of test fixtures and instrumentation circuits with them. Very easy to construct and maintain. rugged and reliable.
