Can't load files into Activity Bot robot - get note " about file has not been built yet " when I hit the run button ; do not know what that note means.
Secondly if I hit the yes button , the curson moves down into the " logs & other screen below and then I have no control over it with my key boatd ?
how do I build the file ? I thought ' libabcalibrate .c or abclbrate .c was the file - see attached
Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong
This may be very fundamental but forgive me I'm on a learning curve
All the files I thought that are required I have now in a directory .... programfilesx86\Simple ID\Workshop\Simple Libraries\Robotics\ActiviyBot....
they include abcalibrate C source file ; header file and libabcalibrate source file and a SimpleIDE application file
Thanks

Can you cc Andy on this also
Thanks
Andy suggested running SimpleIDE softwae but I can't; I get a message that I don't have permission
Tried to access thru desk top , thru my document folder and thru Program files (X86) but get same message
I can access thru code block, the blank Simple project application, but then get " must build file message
see attached
I have also noticed that in my PROGRAM FILES (X86)\SimpleIde\ there is a wizard to the FTDI CDM drive file dated 5/1/2014 - not sure I ever accessed that - could that be an issues also
see attached
I'm both the admin and a user. My admin password is different from my logon password
Do I uninstall everything and start over ?
Only anormally I notice is that I get an warning every time I log on but I close it and there is never any issue
Could that have anything to do with it ?
see attached
Thanks and have a great Holiday
Also per my security software , I wondering it "allow once " in lieu of "trusted site " had anything to do with the admin permission
http://malwaretips.com/blogs/backgroundcontainer-dll-virus-removal/
I did reload all the files and everything can in okay but once I exited I got the " don't have permission ' when i ried to activate SimpleIDE
I wonder why my anti virus software does not indicate I'm infected
Let me try running scan
Genk Belgium - I just retired from Ford - Sorry to hear we are shutting down the Genk plant
Andy, Chris ,Tumbler
Cleaned system - no more error messages " for dll file not found " even had Geek squad run full analysis -with malware software and it is now installed on my system- reloaded all spinsoftware , checked all permissions , I'm both aurthorizer and user , even granted access to user , even download the older versions and I still get permission denied - why do Ii get permission defined only when trying to open spin exe and
and I can open the C source files okay (but get flag to build files) - can some one tell me how to build files using the C source " Blank Simple project "
I tried everything , Am I still at a loss in trying to open up spin exe and application file
I can't find anything in my system that tells me what the causal factors are
Disable your antivirus and try again.
or try these steps : http://support2.microsoft.com/kb/2669244
I'm becoming well versed in trying things, thanks to all the help- but no luck
disable the anti virsus, checked path , changes security setting for user, ran as administrator - the SimlpeIDLE application ( exe) file is in my folder and my disktop icon leads me there 'for path location" but even trying to turn it on directly gives me the " access denied '
Why my system won't run the SimleIDE program I don't understand it is window 7 , even try changing to XP to run - nothing
I did send a touble shooting note to mircosoft
reference laptop Dell Inspiron N4010
Is there a way I could use C++ and code blocks and can someone tell me how to build a file in it ? that seems to be what the sytem is responding to
I also notice that my PC has COM7 yet when I plug in the USB cable from my ACTBot robot the drives connect to COM 10 as indicated in my Window drive installation window - is that an issue also ?
That is my next step - run it on another PC
Although it can probably be run with Code::Blocks, I really think it'll be easier find the security setting that is preventing SimpleIDE from running on your OS. We might get through this more quickly over the phone. Send me a PM and we can set up a meeting time.
It you'd still prefer to try the Code::Blocks approach, there is an example here: https://sites.google.com/site/propellergcc/documentation/tutorials/code-blocks On top of this, there would be some additional setup steps to add the activitybot and simpletools libraries to the various projects. That's beyond the scope of this forum, but the Propeller GCC forum might be able to help with it.
Andy
Also tried different compatiability settings
During first try as I start up the PC I can get the SimpleIDE exe set up to start loading - " green bar fills about a 1/4 to 1/2 scale but then it appears to crash and the
Don't have permission flag comes back
I also notice that the drivers appear to load into COM 10 , where my PC is com 7

If you want to call tonight EST 7 pm ( removed )
System has 3.56 GB free memory, 3.8 RAM ;has intel i.3 CPU ;M380 2.53GHz
Your computer might also have some kind of highly restrictive user account control settings that stopped preventing the SimpleIDE software from running, but still prevents one of the compiler or downloader programs from running. You'll want to make sure the computer virus is resolved first, but after that, you might try temporarily disabling the user account control settings. Here is a link:
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/turn-user-account-control-on-off#1TC=windows-7
Note: This is assuming that it's Windows telling you about it. If the message is actually coming from Kaspersky or Windows Defender, the procedure that will stop it from interfering will be different.
At this point, aedford1551's computer successfully completes the SimpleIDE installation, but when it tries to run SimpleIDE for the first time, it displays this message: "C:\Program Files (x86)\SimpleIDE\bin\SimpleIDE.exe Windows cannot access the specified drive, path or file. You may not have the appropriate permission to access this item." The computer's Windows security settings are the same as mine for all practical purposes, and likewise with the file permissions on the executable and SimpleIDE folder in Program files. We tried turning UAC off, turning Windows Defender off, and creating a different admin account and running it from there. None of those experiments caused the behavior to change.
Although the virus was removed, there may still be some residual effect, or possibly some unexamined security setting that is still preventing SimpleIDE.exe from running on this particular computer. I'm hoping we can determine the cause on the offhand chance that we'll see these symptoms again. In the meantime, Omnia Creater 0.3 was installed for running of the tutorial code examples with some extra procedural steps. Although Omnia is still pretty new, it is capable of running example code from the Propeller C Tutorials. The 0.3 version will not be viable as a long term solution on this computer because the compilations took too long.
see my email note dated 1/2/2015 at 3 pm EST .
Thanks for all the assistance -
It was the Anti Virus Software application setting - I changed to it "trusted ' for SimpleIDE .exe It worked
Thanks
Issue resolved
Parallax Support can you remove the " unsolved flag from this posting - Thanks
Allan Edford
The latest distribution is "signed by Parallax" .... A good thing normally.
However, every windows distribution I made prior to this I installed and marked as "trusted" for Norton Antivirus. If no one marks the package "trusted" Norton will assume it's a problem.
So, whoever "signs" the app at parallax, needs to download, and trust it too ....
I know I did this for RC1 in Windows (marked it as trusted in Norton) but don't remember doing so in RC2. I'll be more proactive about that from now on when I sign the package. Still, however, we can only do so in Norton because it's what we use; there are many more anti-virus programs out there, I don't know how many use the same technique (trust vs. unknown).
Allan was using Kaspersky, in this case, which I don't think would have been affected by Norton's trust rating at all.
Alan,
I marked your thread as solved.
In the future, you can go to you first post, edit, go advanced and select "Solved" from the pull dowm menu.
Glad you finally got it working.
