Because of a design flaw that Ken described here:
http://www.parallax.com/news/2014-12-15/small-design-flaw-propeller-project-board-revision-c-our-mistake-your-opportunity
They put these on sale for $8.99:

That won't stop me from buying a few. The flaw is pretty trivial and can be worked around easily.
Looks like they sold 130 yesterday. Won't last long. Ken says new cards will not be available until February or March.

I just ordered two - I screwed up the shipping but called the Sales dept to get it changed to USPS 1st class.
If you click the "Continue to next step" too quickly after selecting the shipping method, you can get the wrong shipping cost. (A little busy icon shows up when you select the shipping option)
Down to 109.
Down to 91 left!
Down to 79!

The picture of the board is a Rev B board (look at the back of the board), the Rev C board may have 9 at that location.
This image shows the affected pins http://www.parallax.com/sites/default/files/news/Whoopsies-02.png
Yup. That 10 pins, not 9.
"Open the picture at the top of the page and you'll see a graphic showing the affected pins. And, as you noted, there are ten (10) and not nine (9) as I mentioned above. These are the aligned along the lower right side of the PCB.

I just wish I could buy a few Propeller 2 boards, but I am patient. I still can't wait to run Forth on them.
It seems to me that one could just run a jumper from the ground below Vin to the 9 and have 8 available if one needs them. But the truth is that I need to review the board in detail.
To prove to myself that I wasn't losing it, I tried to determine why the wrong shipping method was used in my order.
Since I felt sure that I selected the USPS option , I went back through the ordering process to see what happened and discovered that
if you click the "Continue to next step" button before the "Please wait" process completes, you can end up with the wrong shipping method for the order...
I was too hasty it seems!
Kristina, the sales rep, corrected the order for me though.

I'll bet some of these end up on eBay...
This error justifies a discount, but 75% off?!?!?! Cool deal for those who got them!
So HOPEFULLY I ordered 5 of the last few...
I have a couple projects I could use these with... (POV and CAN... )
Thanks for the opportunity! I probably wouldn't have gotten 5 otherwise.

Another gotcha appeared in the latest Product Description dated 12/16/2014:
http://www.parallax.com/sites/default/files/downloads/32810-Propeller-Project-Board-USB-Guide-v3.1.pdf
The 9-pin bank is actually a 10-pin bank, as Ken verified.
Best just to use the 11-pin ground buss on the bottom, (under the VIN).

is the Rev A version The Bridge and Ground pin count has changed on newer revisions.
Thanks for the heads-up. I assumed they were connected to each other at least...
