    That's why I prefer to use a simple but high-resolution ADC (ADS1118 or ADS1115) and a separate reference, and do the cold junction and chart in firmware. Like your original question, wondering what happened to the DS27xxxx module from Parallax. On the other hand, the MAX chip should be perfect for the grill/BBQ. Ready for superbowl.

    I didn't know of the ADS1118 or 1115, ADC's....I'll check them out for future use.

    2500 F? Yowsah! J or K type? What's the output voltage range you expect to see?
