It is a feature I use to help me read my textbooks, and I don't understand why it is
an issue.

Is it possible to get a secured copy of the propeller data sheet that allows highlighting?

Thanks

Bill M.

I have often wondered if this is a feature that one has to buy a genuine Adobe Reader license to get.

I could be that the genuine Adobe Reader is free, but not provided for Linux.

Why not just print the secured PDF as a PDF, using one of the many free PDF writers out there, and highlight the new copy?

Phil's suggestion should work. I did just that with a problematic document the other day. I didn't need anything special for this, I simply printed the original from within the PDF reader and selected 'print to file' and 'pdf' as output, instead of an actual printer. I do this all the time when I want to extract a few pages as a separate document, so I'm used to the procedure. I only grab for the more advanced PDF toolkit when I need something more complicated, e.g. reversing pages or combining documents (e.g. after scanning).

p.s. off-topic, but I notice that this old version of the Forum software works fine for posting/editing on Android, unlike what has been the case for the last few years. A relief!
