SIDE: menu not visible, only toolbar

I saw a new twist on SIDE today during a class. They downloaded and installed SIDE as per Learn... Simple C within last week. Toolbar is visible but not Menu. I couldn't figure out how to display the menu.
I searched for all instances of the word Menu in the Help / SIDE guide but no luck.
Anyone know how to display the menu? Thanks.

    What platform?

    Mac menu is "different" for example.

    I'm embarrassed to say I don't remember which was which. I am pretty sure it was on one of the Macs. So at least for Mac, how to reveal the menu starting with just a toolbar? Thanks.

    Mac has one and only one menubar for all programs. The menu bar is typically at the top of the desktop, and it changes depending on which program is active. So, for each program window, you will see a toolbar and whatever other content in the window rectangle without a menu bar.

    Thanks - I think that explains it. My eye just never went there. I'm picking up a Mac in next few days so will get the hang of the conventions.
