ELEV-8 V2 Travel Box Discussion: Coroplast?

Hey all,
I travel at least two or three times a month for Parallax. Today I'm in Washington to do the keynote presentation for the www.zillahrobotchallenge.com. Well, I can hardly go anywhere without bringing along an ELEV-8 V2. I've taken these apart and reassembled them so many times I don't want to think about it. Today, I decided to just carry it on the plane after removing propellers and landing gear. Knowing it could become a topic of conversation I covered the booms and chassis in paper. People asked if it was some sort of "Christmas Star" or artwork. It was still a topic of unintended conversation especially for the geologist who sat by me on the flight. He knew exactly what it was and how it is used.
Even with propellers and gear removed, it took me 15 minutes to reassemble.
I'd like to build a travel box for ELEV-8 V2s. I need something reusable so I'm looking at Coroplast - that plastic sign material that's available everywhere after elections when the signs come down. It's available in all kinds of thicknesses.
A square box 24" and 10" deep would hold and protect an ELEV-8. Foam cutouts could hold it in place and protect it from being squished. And the airplane and passerby conversations wouldn't get started. I'd check the box. If you think that the material is too weak - take a look at the applications. With foam inserts it will resist compression nicely and protect an ELEV-8 V2.
I'm interested in your feedback before I pursue this idea. Tell me why it's a bad idea or give me a better idea. You are familiar with the ELEV-8 and moving around your projects, so I thought it'd be a good forum question.
I'm going to build a box. It won't be made of plywood or cardboard and I will reuse it all the time.
Thanks,
Ken Gracey
