ROS Revolution?

I must have slept through another robot revolution. And I can't afford to join RBR to find out what I missed. Another Christmas bummer..

Hmmm...
AFAIK, no one has made a plywood hexapod yet. Lately I've lost (sharable) robotic turf to the likes of Duane and Gareth. Such a niche bot might help me recover some lost ground.
But as I've alluded to in another post, I'm building experimental bots & other microcontroller projects at a record rate for my employer. It's a pity I'm not free to share them here, as I would be winning the war!
This is state-of-the-art for plywood, my fine timbered friend:

You should see the one made of stone.
Maybe it's all been done already. Maybe there are no robotic frontiers left! Confusion fall!
Nope! Found at a dig in Saudi Arabia. Had a partial inscription "Fr + B ney" on the chassis.
