~1 mile range. At $100, every project needs FPV!

On a more realistic note, has anyone used something like this on their Elev-8?
I believe Nick from Parallax tested, but, alas, he is no longer with the company.
Ken would know.
We will wait for US shipments.
The higher the frequency of the signal, the lower the range (when comparing identical power outputs). The higher frequency stuff generally has a clearer picture since it has such a high bandwidth.
From what I've read, 900MHz (or 1GHz) systems have the best range. I've heard it's good to avoid 2.4GHz systems since most RC gear uses it. The ~ 5.8GHz of this system can produce good results (I think) but the range will be less than a 900MHz system.
I've used my 900MHz setup to transmit back a video image of an ELEV-8 flight but so far, I've been too chicken to try full FPV.

With a little extra work, you could attach an IMU to it (or at least a 3-axis compass and accelerometer) and control the quadcopter simply by turning and tilting your head. Sneeze and it dive bombs your boss.
