moving to production of your Stamp program... How to mass produce with < cost?

I am looking for some basic guidance on moving beyond the prototype circuit and programming that we can do on the Baisc Stamp 2. We have our circuit, we know what the code is to run the circuit, so how do we move to producing the "chips" that will run our program without the need for all the elegant parts of the Basic Stamp 2 board? Are there any threads I could read? I do not know what search terms to use? Any suggestions would be appreciated?

I'm not sure if you've seen the OEM section of the Basic Stamps.

I think these chips are intended to be used by people like you.

Parallax has a page here on doing this. However, the "Shop BASIC Stamp OEM Modules & Components" link is dead.

Thank you for these links. They are very helpful. But I was thinking about alternatives that were pennies (OK Quarters) per chip. I have worked on projects that used PIC chips that cost very little, and we "flash" programmed them for the program we wanted to use, but I was not responsible for the technical aspect of the chip programming.

Parallax does not release their BASIC Stamp firmware for flashing your own chips. You have to buy preprogrammed chips from them.
