Brain failing as Fast as Propeller

SOLVED! Thanks guys!

As a result of some MINI strokes, I am experiencing great difficult in tracking down some propeller related issues. This is worse than starting from the beginning. My actual question begins after the "========================================"

On my Organ Console, I now have two propeller boards which HAD been running perfectly for over 2 years. These two boards/programs were in mid development but again were working exactly as expected.

Now the oldest is hard to get the serial comm working [VB 6 Application], multiple reboots and once it has fully loaded and a bunch of messages sent back and forth to the main PC, [I can see them in my VB application], the only two messages it needs to send after a successful boot [an arrow left and arrow right] no longer work. Those 2 messages are used to turn my electronic Sheet Music pages forward and back.

I can temp live with that but the newer propeller stops sending MIDI messages after about 10 minutes and re-booting restores them for awhile. This is a new symptom that I cannot work around. These messages are sent to a completely different commercial application Hauptwerk which is a Virtual Theater Organ program and I can verify that the MIDI messages are no longer sent from this board.
========================================================================================================================

Sorry for the long intro before getting to my actual question and here is where I have lost it.

I have a New OLD stock [2+ years old] Propeller USB2SER adapter and this is the very first time I attempted to use it and all I get back via the Prop Serial Terminal program is gibberish [see below]

    While I have never used the USB2SER adapter on the Proto Board, there is a set of holes behind the PropPlug connector marked USB2SER. Looks like you could put in a 4-pin male header and use it there.

    Looking at the schematic, using that header takes care of the different pinout of the USB2SER.

    Was there ever any issue with the USB2SER adapter and Prop Proto Board pairing?

    You can't use the USB2SER on the PropPlug connector. You would need to solder in a set of headers into the box labelled "USB2SER" in order to use USB2SER with the Prop Proto Board.

    Sorry to hear about health issues. I hope you can still enjoy playing the organ.

    Thank you both Publison/Duane! The few brain cells firing can handle this modification.

    Someday we will need a video of that awesome console in action! I have been following for some years.

    Never fear. We will augment the brain cells! :)

    Thanks again! Without this forum I would have to just play an MP3 recording of the organ!
