I'm not seeing Arduino in this offering. Looks like a stand alone controller.

Looks nice for the price. wonder which toaster ovens it has been checked with.

    Looks like it's a MSP430G2553 MPU

I don't see anything wrong with the Zallus controller but I'd rather have a Propeller controlled oven myself.

I know there have been several Propeller controlled reflow ovens.

Our kitchen oven is controlled by a Propeller chip and I've used a Propeller to control a toaster oven to dry ore samples (as part of a chemical test) but I have yet to make a reflow oven.

I think the main appeal to having a reflow oven Propeller controlled is it will be easier for me to modify the code.

I don't recall who all have Propeller controlled reflow ovens. Maybe they'll remind us?

Edit: Or we could look in the "Similar Threads" section.

    This looks really cool!

Too bad it isn't a propeller chip though.

I bought all the gear to make my own prop controlled oven. But then I got a real one, Torch T200C which is fantastic except for the $.
Still interested to make a prop oven just for the fun of it, but too many other projects unless someone does the prop code.

I just ordered one. Seems like a great deal. I already have one I got online a few years ago that works good. It's PC based and connected via USB to the controller. I like the fact of having a stand alone setup versus needing a PC to run the controller. My original one was from Silicon Horizons (Florida) but I think they are no longer around.

I am still working on mine. But because of everything going on, I can't work on it like I want.

You don't need temperature control for a small home oven, so long as you get to callibrate a setting that corresponds to
    a sensible soaking temperature.

Place board, set to to soak, wait 2 or 3 minutes (longer if large thermal masses on the board), crank to max and
watch carefully till all the paste has reflowed across the board, turn off. The temperature rise and fall curves
should be reasonable and the reflow temperature is more accurately judged by eye than thermocouple (which
can never be exactly the same as the board temperature anyway).

Its only for production runs that temperature control matters really...

Just received my Zallus controller. Haven't connected it to my oven yet but did power it up to see it work. Very nice design. Simple to operate.
