From a couple of my other posts in the threads about the "Smart" WS2811 LED's I have been somewhat successful in getting my rainbow of colors to work on the LED's. However, for the project idea I have I feel that a Prop and/or a Stamp is going to be overkill. So, has does anyone know of a fairly simple circuit using maybe 555 timers, transistors or the like? I think I may even have some 556 timers around somewhere. I did a Google search but most of what I found seem like they will be too large when completed. I also have some Radio Shack RGB LED's that I believe are common anode. I will need to check though.

Not exactly a 555 but it is apparently possible to control a string of these RGB LEDs with an ATtiny85 which is only an 8 pin chip and costs around $1.50.
