Demo Board not working - Solved

I recently got a used Demo Board. When I plugged in the USB the leds flash but I get a "No Propeller found" error. Upon inspection of the board the surface of the leftmost regulator appears silver rather than black so I checked the 5V output and got 3.2V also the VDD output is 0V even when on. It appears that the leftmost regulator is the 5V regulator and not working correctly. Am I correct? Also what is the part number of the regulators. I'm about to order some parts from Digikey and I'll add them to the list. Thanks.

Just to make sure, you're aware the Demo Board needs a power supply right? It doesn't get power from the USB connection.

Most Propeller boards with USB connections can be powered from the USB but not the Demo Board.

I had a 7.5V 1 Amp wallwart plugged in but I may be a bit premature. I hadn't looked at the schematic. The green power led comes on so it must be getting 3.3V. I'll have to recheck my readings tomorrow. I did try the board on 2 different cables and laptops and the laptops do see the serial port but don't see the Propeller. I also tried a Propboe and had no problems.

I looked at a picture of the Demo Board online and saw a jumper on the Idd header. Mine didn't have it so I put one on and it works!

Cool Beans! Glad you got it running. I can't imagine why that was there in the first place. Maybe to run an external supply?

Didn't even notice that on my Demo Board. It's always been in place.

I did a little research on the jumper and in another thread they mention that it used to get current readings. You remove the jumper and then connect a VOM to it and read the current.
