Anyone ever create parts for their elev8? I have a 3d printer and was going to make some landing gear and other misc items.
Any luck with doing so? What parts did you make?

Yes, several people have printed ELEV-8s. At least three forum members and a few students who don't have time. A few people have also made parts on CNC routers.

The drawings are free, so make yourself at home!

    Hi
What are you using for a drawing program?
What types of custom parts are you interested in fabricating.
I've had a number of items 3D printed by a printing service.
My custom parts are not related to the elev-8, but have always worked for me.

Ken do you have any better files or even the stl files for the elev-8 v2? I imported the files off the site and they are microscopic. Im using repetier host.

Can you explain in greater detail what the problem with the files is (specifically what you mean by "microscopic")? I just downloaded the files to check and they all work for me. In other word, what are you looking for?

when I open the files, I can barely see the parts, they are super small. I use repetier host for my software to run the 3d printer. Its an airwolf 3d printer.....even if I change the import settings to mm or inches, I can on!y see a blue spec on my screen....am I missing something?

let me rephrase.....after I export the eprt files to an .stl file and open them with repetier host, they are really really small.....

Are you referring to the PDF files on the Product page? Those are the only ones I can find, I don't find any DXF yet.

Your tool is probably assuming mm measurements, and they were exported in inches. That would make them exactly 25.4x smaller than expected. Using Repetier host, set the scale factor to 25.4 and see if that makes them look right.
