5V Limefuel to Parallax Board

Hey Guys,

Question for you guys, I bought a nice limefuel battery pack that's got quite a bit of charge but it only has two outs each with 5V. My board requires 6V. Aside from running the power output from the source through a circuit and combining then dividing out the voltage is there any easy work around to get my board to use a 5V source? The amperage is good for the outputs.

Thanks,
Seeker

If you can live with 2-3 amps, these little Chinese step-up modules are cheap and reasonably efficient.

Of course the limefuel power pack has its own internal regulator or booster with its own inefficiencies, compounded by adding another voltage booster module. If you can hack into the pack to connect the above booster module directly to the internal (Li-Ion or LiPO) battery, your overall efficiency may improve.

Which board are you using? Many boards regulate the power down to 5V so you may be able to just bypass the regulator and power the 5V rail directly with your power supply.

So I have the propeller and stamp board of education. The propellor has the USB input which I thought would be okay with the 5V. The stamp one has the old serial connector, 9V pattery connector or dc connector for which I am using USB to DC but not the best. I was even thinking about using a voltage double circuit by having the output run onto a circuit board but feels like an epic waste of time to go about it that way. I just like the thought of having 15000mah, was gonna run a little robot vacuum off of it.
