They're closing them out. [This is in the US.]

BTW it's only under $8 in store.

Online sales are $12

Wow, These weren't available online last time I checked. $12 isn't as good of a price as $8 but it's still a great deal. They only let me purchase five.

Now I can't add one to my cart.

Can any of you add a QuickStart board to your cart at RadioShack?

Looks like they're now out of stock online. I guess too many of us jumped on this deal! Actually, I bought two locally for the $8 price a while back but I haven't seen any in the stores since then.

It tells me they're out of stock online and no store within 50 miles has any.

I initially tried to purchase six boards but I thought I was only allowed to purchase 5. I didn't realize I was cleaning them out. Had I known those were the last five I would have felt guilty as I purchased them left some for you guys.

Anyone in San Diego? A couple of stores show stock when I use the zip code I grew up with 92109. The Garnet store has been there for as long as I can remember.

That's okay. I already have 8 QuickStart boards, some Rev A and some Rev B. I think that's probably enough. :-)

I know it doesn't matter to most but as I understand the only QS boards available fro RS are the Rev A version. I've got a lot (haven't been counting) of them and these days would only be interested in the Rev B boards. Even more interesting to me are the Activity boards and the prop boe boards

Rev B boards theoretically have fewer serial issues but I've used Rev A boards without too much trouble as well.

Radio Shack has been selling QuickStart boards for almost 6 months at that price so it might drop again soon. Usually at the end of the year companies like to clear out old inventory and make as much money as they can so the yearly numbers look good.

I'm guessing that they've pretty much sold all their QuickStarts. The store locator couldn't find any within 50 miles of my location. I also tried a few random zipcodes, and almost all the areas I tried didn't have it. The only place I found some were in Arlington, Texas. Also, the online store says their out of stock.

There are some at a couple of stores in Philadelphia but not near where I work. I wonder if RadioShack will ship product between local stores?

    David,

Yes they will if the store that has it is in the same district. Ask the manager.

Ya but the 69th, Penrose & Springfield all say they can't locate theirs

69th was supposed to have four but they only found the 2 I bought when I was there..

You guys don't need to be mad at me for cleaning out the online store. I received an email saying they couldn't complete my order because of lack of stock. I'm not getting any of the $11 boards.

I got two cheap quickstarts (~$7) at my local radio shack a while back. I would totally buy more at that price. I haven't even used the boards. But they are so cool and the price is too good.
Hopefully this radioshack shenanigans (Buy high! Sell low!) helps Parallax in the long term. I know it might be hard to market the quickstart at profit (or even at cost) when there have been so many cheap quickstarts on the market recently. But hopefully this turns a lot more people on to the Propeller. I have enough of these cheap boards that I could totally give a few away to people with potential interest.
