I'm not sure if that is a good lens to use, I'm in trial and error phase. Maybe someone here knows?
Most people pop the lens out of a laser pointer and put the flat side flush with the phone camera. There are some tutorials online to do this to make a microscope. Flat surfaces are easy to focus so it works a lot better as a microscope.
Please tell erco what lens you used, so he can find a good deal on them for us.
Funny you say that, I just find these cheap plastic lenses for my optical sensor experiments with lasers & IR, but they are not suitable for photography. Works well for my needs (big, cheap, short focal length) so I ordered a second batch of ten.
