Propeller Project Board USB #32810 Power

Does anybody know if the Propeller Project Board USB #32810 is designed for a Mini Power Jack to be soldered on or something similar. Looking at the picture provided for the Mini Power Jack, I'd think the answer is no. But perhaps there is a part that will fit the board or is is just designed for wires to be soldered directly to the pads?

Thanks,
Doc

Yes you can, but you have to remove the solder lug coming down the side of the jack. I believe there is a picture in the board documentation showing how to do it. Then just solder the jack to the holes with the square pads, making sure the center pin connector goes to the + pad, as it should when the jack opening covers the mounting hole (with the round pad).

    Yup,

Bend up the side tab a couple of time to break it off. I put these on all my project boards,

Just wish there were more Project Boards to buy !

@Hal - thanks for the tips.

What I REALLY need is to buy that Quadrover board back. :) I have another rover that I'm slowly getting parts for, ( 75%) complete), and it arrive with no brain also. I'll call this one Scarecrow II.

Scarecrow I is read for hydraulic fluid and gas next week.

Mission accomplished! I robbed a power jack from a "not-so-SchmartBoard" that I fubar'd a while back. Works great!

Looks like the Li-ion Power Pack.

But the Li-ion board is not the bottom board.

Good catch Rick. The bottom board is just an acrylic adaptor because the Wild Thumper chassis holes have different spacing than the Parallax boards.

This is what I was asking about.

BTW - I'm powering the board from the Li-ion pack and the motors from 7.2V 3000mAH NiMH battery.
