Need to add an accelerometer to my Basic Stamp

Hi,

I have the B. Stamp Homework and I have the MMA8452Q accelerometer
I prefer B. Stamp because they are more easy to program and a they have lot of document.

I need to read just two axis . Do you know where I can find the code
or some lines of code to use this accelerometer with a Basic Stamp ?

I am not an expert. B.Stamps are very good for me for this reason
I would like to use this sensor with B. Stamps.

You're not likely to find sample code for the Basic Stamp for two reasons: 1) The MMA8452Q is a 3.3V device, suitable for use with a Propeller, but requiring a regulator and some kind of voltage translator to use with a Stamp which is a 5V device. 2) The MMA8452Q has an I2C interface which requires a lot of Stamp code to use with a BS2. The BS2p has built-in I2C, but the MMA8452Q does some odd things with the I2C protocol and I don't think you can use the BS2p statements in some cases.

Better to use a 5V accelerometer with an SPI interface or use something like the Propeller

Angela, since you only need 2 axes why not just use the Memsic 2125 which has been used with the BS2 for years. You don't even need the 220 ohm resistors since they are built into the Homework board. Unfortunately you missed the 10% off everything Labor Day promotion.

If it were me, since they are the same price, I would get the 3 Axis, just in case!!!

NWCCTV, the Memsic uses PULSIN to get data from each axis while the MMA7455 uses SPI or I2C.That extra unused axis requires a lot more code.
