Was at a race where they used disposable RFID tags to identify racers and times and was
wondering how much and who sales these large scale RFID readers.

The company that runs this system.

The name of the RFID timing & scoring company is Jaguar Timing Solutions... The system they use is Highly Proprietary and the user agreement is lock tight (you sign your life away to use their stuff) In addition the system prices start at $5000, but to get the results you saw you would need a system that costs upwards to $50K. The system was originally used to time & score 5K and marathon races. IN my opinion it is highly over-rated and still vulnerable to RFID reader errors and user setup mistakes. If the registration data is faulty, it does not make it any better than a good manual scoring system. Are there better scoring system out there - Yes and no
