Jim: Saw those, a great deal in you need 120 pieces. Probably not continuous signal compatible like the 4038, but likely fine for receiving Sony codes & such. I'll pass, I have plenty.

I've been thinking of buying a tray of those. I have a pile of remote controls and they're much easier to work with for a lot of projects than buttons and switches. I ended up buying the IR receiver for my Prop Nixie clock at R#*$0 S$#@$ where it was almost four dollars, so I would only have to use a couple of these to be ahead. Anyone interested in buying a share?

I have been looking at these because they are more perf/breadboard friendly.

OK I caved and ordered a tray this morning. Also threw in for 50 micro lever switches for $10, since they look like they'd make great limit switches.

The tray arrived. I will get around to testing one in a couple of days. The shield removes easily leaving it nicely breadboard compatible.
