Activity Board USB Power

When I shut off my ArloBot Power supply the Activity Board often keeps on running. This is because it starts pulling power from the USB port on the connected computer, which is always connected.
I have some questions about this:
1. Is there any "danger" to any components or the Activity Board itself, set up with lots of accessories and sensors, from this dropping to USB power?
2. Will the Activity Board always flip back to "plug power" automatically when it becomes available, or is it possible that it will keep using USB power even after the power supply is on again?
3. Is there any way to prevent the Activity Board from running on USB power, either programmatically or electronically?
4. Does any of this matter, or should I just ignore it?
Thank you.
