Last evening I compiled the same code for a 4cog 4KB and 48KB hub ram for the DE0.
Both were very close for compile time and one used 9 LEs more. The rest was the same.
Both were under W8.1 and 64bit versions.

So, there is nothing much different between the two versions. I haven't checked any timings (unsure about how yet, still learning)

On XP, do we have to uninstall 13.1 to install 14.0? or can we have both?

I don't know about 14.0 yet, but I didn't touch 13.1 settings and files that ran just fine the last time I used them suddenly started showing compilation errors. I downloaded a fresh copy from Parallax and everything seems fine now...the thing is that I was experimenting with fresh files, changing only the clock settings and decided to put them back to the default settings tonight when the failures occurred... other than reverting to original clock settings my files were fresh to start with:)
