Past Parallax Catalogs

Given that there were some questions on old Parallax products, specifically the BS2 PDB and Altera offerings, I though I would take the Catalog PDF's from the Parallax CD's Parallax used to send out with their orders and post them up. These are off site as they are too big for an upload.

I give you:

2004
2005
2006
2008
2009

Adding all files to the accompanying CD's:

2004
2005
2006
2007
2008
2009

Added 2005 Product Catalog. Thanks Doggiedoc!

I find it interesting to look at the background images in the 2004 catalog. Anyone else agree with me??

Does Parallax still make these catalogs? If so, what am I missing :)??

Does anybody have the PDF for the 2007 catalog? That must be the first one showing the Prop since it doesn't appear in the 2006 catalog.

Ah...the 2004 catalog. Quite a few family pets in that one, it was tremendous fun to create.

To answer your question, we no longer print a comprehensive product catalog. The current trend is toward smaller, more focused shopping guides highlighting our popular products. Print has a difficult time competing with the web in terms of staying up to date. And the large catalogs were a huge investment of time and money.

If you wanted to get a PDF or request the 2013-2014 Product Guide, there are links on this page.

The 2007 .ISOs only have the 2006 catalog. I don't have a printed catalog from 2007.

A few months back I was looking for something and came across an archive of the old Parallax website. I don't know if I still a link but I downloaded as much from it as I could since I didn't know how long it would be there. They didn't have everything though. I can understand why Parallax doesn't have old catalogs and documents on their web page but I don't see why can't that put that stuff on their FTP server. Some people still use or buy that old hardware plus there are sometimes references to it. Not everyone has a Parallax CD and even the ISOs are no longer available.

It is my intent to provide the ISO's from the previous years. I had to call Parallax today to see if it would be legal to host those files.

    I got a thumbs up.

Look for them in the next few days.

Parallax.com was originally owned by Parallax Graphics.

I have used the Way Back Machine to get some archives. Many are lost.

Unfortunately Parallax turned on the robot.txt disabling many archives

Interesting on the amount of new archives appearing for 2013. Last year there were a handful.

This is good for finding some new old files.

How about some neat products from 1997 like the Stamp Bug...

This page from May 23, 2006 is interesting -- https://web.archive.org/web/20060523152800/http://www.parallax.com/propeller/index.asp . It shows the information on the Prop just after it was introduced. It's good to see the prices came down a bit since it was first introduced.

A lot of info with a simple Google search.

You will have to weed out what's Parallax and what's not.

I repeat what I said in another recent thread, to Jen in particular and the Parallax milieu in general, those catalogs are works of art. You can see immediately that they were fun and labor of love.

I decided not to do .ISO's, (that would have cost me money to convert). ZIP's instead.

Got most of the ZIP's done. Give me an hour.

EDIT: Been very busy this weekend. Give me a couple of days. :)

Publison asked me to ZIP the Parallax Nov 1990 CD contents mentioned in post #11.

EDIT: I uploaded it to DropBox and Publison downloaded it - not sure where he plans to store it...

It actually contains the Parallax Web site (HTML, etc) from 1999 so you can step back in time...
