I just got home from the Boston Expo. Good fun, and great to match names and faces.
A sincere thanks to Parallax and Publison for the Hydra kit. Thanks very much! I bought the book long ago because of my interested in graphics, but never got around to buying the hardware. After I get familiar with it I'll take it to school and get students going with it. They will love the "retro" graphics!l
I also brought home some cool weather station parts kindly donated by SRLM in the parts swap, soon to become part of a Propeller powered high school weather station. Gotta go, lots of work to do .
Sincerely,
Lev

Rich and Scott did a brilliant PowerPoint presentation on High Altitude Balloon deployments using the Propeller to collect data.
It was a great first expo. Thanks to David, (vanmunch), for getting this together. There was good talk about making next years better.
Oops. +1 for Dave, who I neglected to mention. Sorry Dave. The planning was good, the company was good, and the discussion was good. I was just telling my wife about your seed planting and weed pulling robots. Jaw dropping stuff!

It was good to meet all of you face to face. Sorry I had to duck out early, but I'm a single parent this weekend.
If I had more time I could've boxed up a lot more items, but the last couple of weeks have been fairly intense - perhaps the most we've ever had to achieve in a short time at Parallax. In two weeks we released the ELEV-8, finished 13,600 DEFCON badges, licensed and opened the Propeller Verilog. I'm looking forward to Labor Day weekend at this stage...three days yeah!

Not sure if Dave got a picture of me.
I recognize Dave from his Ohio appearances....the rest of you need captions so we can match people with avatars and forum names.
I guess this means we'll need pictures from Orrville on the 30th.
I figured someone would pick up on that. With a broken blade I couldn't fly it, so I though...maybe a maze.
EDIT: Names post in Post #11

I thought so too, Ken. But the last time i PM'd him, he said he moved to Boston over a year ago.
Good to have him on the "right" coast.
(As opposed to the "left" coast as we call Cali.) No politics implied.

Attached are some pictures from the Saturday event, I forgot to take any pictures Friday night.
I want to especially thank my wife for baking cookies, helping me get everything together, and making sure we had lunch Saturday.
We should think about organizing another one in the spring?
Yep. I'm trying out the city life. Except for the outrageous rents (#3 in the nation) it's a great experience. My favorite part is the Charles river: beautiful bike rides and fun sailing at Community Boating. There's also some good tech meetings (IEEE Entrepreprenours Network and IEEE Consultant Network along with a great swap meet.
I learned to sail at Community Boating 21 years ago. It's a lot of fun, and if you're a member I would suggest going on a harbor trip if they still have them. On Sundays the city of Cambridge closes down Memorial drive on Sundays which is fun to skate, run, or bike on.
Looking at the picture I think you mislabeled me as Harrord_H instead of Martin_H. Although I was tempted to remain anonymous as no one on the Internet knows you're a 'mature' guy.
Will fix right away!
