Running Quartus II in a Linux VM under VirtualBox

Has anyone tried running the Linux version of Quartus II under VirtualBox on a Mac? I was able to compile the P1 code but the programmer doesn't seem to work even if I attach the Altera USB Blaster device to the VM. Has anyone gotten this to work? Do I need to install a driver?

David - are you suggesting that it may be possible to emulate the FPGA environment on your Mac and program the Prop1 from that?

    Paul,

That's the way I understood it:) It was late and of course, I didn't bother to read anything... just went where David seemed to point. VirtualBox downloaded and installed no problem... the problem is that I didn't download and set up a disk with the
archlinux on it first... so right in the middle, I was oopsied of to bed. In the meantime, I got my XP dusted off and it worked first time like a charm. I am putting this on hold for now, but if you decide to go this way, please post your exact steps and settings.

Rich - I plan to try. Currently I have been sidetracked by my Diligent XC3S100E board. I think I may be able to get 1 cog to run on it. :) First hurdle is talking to it from a Mac. (Thank you Parallels VM.)
