For those of you looking to convert an existing ethernet project to wifi, this adapter is available for $7.99:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Belkin-Universal-Wireless-HDTV-Adapter-Used/231293172104?_trksid=p2045573.c100033.m2042&_trkparms=aid%3D111001%26algo%3DREC.SEED%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D23848%26meid%3D8619866551579158501%26pid%3D100033%26prg%3D10181%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D4%26sd%3D231293172104

I used this with a project that uses an enc28J60 ethernet module and it works very well. It even support 802.11n in the 5ghz band.

The closest price I could find for a comparable adapter was about $45 on amazon.

I suggest anyone interested get the manual from Belkin before they buy.

It helps to know what it is intended to do. OpenWRT hasn't yet hacked these. So you have to use what's provided or get into some serious reverse engineering.

That is the point, no "hack" is required for these to work if your project already has Ethernet and you want to add WiFi.

I do understand. And at the price you list it is indeed a bargain. Belkin has long been associated with quality devices.

On the other hand, for $20USd I now have a nice little wifi router adapted to programing the Propeller directly over wifi. And after the binary is loaded, one can communicate with the Propeller (upload control and configuration, download data).

This where the hacking comes in. I can just power up my wifi notebook and get in touch with my Propeller, no LAN cables at all.

I would not buy a Belkin product if my life depended on it. When I first got in to the computer business almost 20 years ago I had bought a Belkin DB-9 cable (Supposedly). The cable did not work and when I tried to return it to Belkin they pretty much called me a liar and said they have NEVER had one of their cables fail. I told them that this must be the first and they refused to issue a refund for their OUTRAGEOUSLY over priced cable. It was then that I discovered a local cable maker called Pacific Custom Cable. I have had a LONG term relationship with the owner, Dave and I get all my specialty cables from him now.
