hello all.
i have 2 xbees series 2 that I'm trying to use them for communication between to bs2.
i have updated the firmware on the one, through xctu, but the other one it cannot be found.
I'm using a drones adapter and the assuc light is going insane, unlike the other.
the utility can't find it and it seems like there is nothing i can do.
any piece of advice?

thank you in advance!

You didn't give any link to this adapter you're using. Is it possible that it cannot handle the current of the S2 Module?

But i have seen the other xbee. Its assoc light is flashing slower.
The one i cannt see is flashing really fast.
    The adapter i using http://www.robot-italy.com/en/xbee-usb-board.html

How can i reset to default the setting manually?

Ihave a pair of xbee series 1. Do they need firmware update using xctu or they can transreceive out of the box?

I'm not familiar with that adapter, but I see it has a "soft-start" circuit. I wasn't sure if something happened to that and the module was being powered on/off repeatedly or in the case of current, browning out repeatedly. The latter probably isn't the issue now that I see the adapter.

As for the Series 1, any set of the same series should be able to connect as they come. There's usually no need to connect them to X-CTU and do anything unless they're really old or were previously reconfigured.

That is an interface board. The XBee module plugs into it.
What are the part numbers for the XBee modules you are using?

John, to be honest I don't know where the part number is written. Chris might know.
What is written on your XBee or better yet attach a photo. Also, where did you buy there from because the part number might be listed?

Do any of these look the same?

Without seeing the module I wouldn't even make a guess. He linked the adapter he's using above, which I am not familiar with.

I believe Digi has an option if the module is not actually damaged. You may have to contact them directly for that.

    John,

Have you look through this book by chance?
    http://www.parallax.com/downloads/getting-started-xbee-rf-modules-text

Most of it uses the Series 1 with Parallax interface boards, but the last chapter is on Series 2 and it gives a good explanation of how to use and configure these module.
