Someone asked this very question some time ago. If I could find it I would have just posted this in that thread. So, if one of the moderators finds the thread, please point me to it so I can delete this thread. Here it is, the answer to What's Next?

Hmmm... it seems to be similar to the early CubieBoard1, but the CubieBoard1 has a SATA interface as well. The CubieBoard2 came out and now there is the CubieTruck.

Not sure where this fits in to the march of relentless innovation. I guess it is good as the narrator has a German accent... Yah, das ist richtig!

The HummingBoard is going nowhere. It's expensive and over complicated whilst at the same time limiting itself to the Raspberry Pi format.

There are plenty of other Raspi competitors out there and I imagine more will emerge day by day. Use what fits your purpose.

Wake me up when I can you have a fifty dollar, 64 bit, credit card sized ARM board with SATA.

NWCCTV, do you have a specific project in mind or do you just want to experiment with other things?

That Hummingboard has a SATA interface as well as SD.

Being German myself, my guess was that the accent is more Russian than German. But we both where wrong.

According to this page http://www.solid-run.com/company/the-team/ the Hummingboard is made by a Team out of Israel.

    Enjoy!

Neither, I just recall someone asking the question a month or so ago and I came across this whilst browsing.

It is a bit difficult to sort through the specs as they are really presenting one board and claiming two upgraded versions are soon to follow.

But the HummingBoard seems to be an ARM-Cortex A9 processor whereas the CubieBoard1 is an Allwinner A10.

German, Russian, Yiddish... I still do appreciate good German technology. Asians seem to have never had a passion for quality control. Nonetheless, the CubieBoard.org out of ShenZhen seems to have good quality control.. for now.
