Hey folks,
Have you used one of these?
http://www.ereshop.com/shop/digital-inputs-c-143_181/i2copto330vpcf8574-p-777.html?zenid=6bd8ce2b4f2236fa5ae2abefce86bd01

I am hoping for some feedback- considering ordering a few for a trial, but don't want to waste my money if the product or the company has a bad rap.

Lemme know whatcha think! :)

From the ad and pictures it looks like a good product. At about $3 per channel is a bargain compared to other I/o boards. Cons - if you fry one channel it makes for no joy. Just be careful that your volts & amps don't exceed the specs. I also would NOT use it in a commercial / industrial application. Have fun.

I do tend to like my opto-isolators to be socketed so that when they do get fried, you can just plug in a new one. Of course, there is no promise that the socket itself would burn up as well.

These are nice boards and a good value. I suppose you could input from up to 8 different devices at the same time. With just and I2C interface, you have a port expander that is much more than a port expander.

For commercial use they are probably not UL approved and the optocoupler chip is not socketed. So if and when one channel gets fried the PCB is not to be trusted anymore. Using Opto-22 or Crydom power i/o is a much better choice for industrial & commercial products.

You can visit their Web site at www.opto22.com. You can also find a lot of their stuff on eBay.
