First time user SimpleIDE can't load QuickStart board

Trying to start at the beginning for a change. Installed simpleIDE and drivers. Opened "hello" project. Builds ok but can't open port 58. 58 is the port identified in device manager upon insertion of the QuickStart board.
Suspect a driver problem. Win 7 64 bit. Thanks.

On the SimpleIDE screen, upper right corner just to the left of the blue monitor icon is a drop down box with COM1 (usually). Without the Quickstart plugged in click on the drop down and see which com ports are listed. Then plug in the Quickstart and check the list again, On my machine without the Quickstart the list only shows Com1. With the Quickstart it shows Com1 and Com11. Click on the new Com port and you should be good to go. No need to go into device manager.

Hmmm. That's odd. The identified port is 58. It was 58 earlier today. The only difference is I inserted the the board with simpleIDE opened. Anyhow it works! Thanks for the nudge. I have spent many hours trying to get the arduino stuff to run on this machine. Now I get to lead he propeller on my work laptop. That simplifies things greatly. I have a simple project for work, now I can work in field instead of being tied to my desktop.
