Pausing the propeller in execution and using an external oscillator.

If I run a propeller using an external oscillator, say for example an output from another prop... if I stop the clock as it were, will the prop just hold and step slowly if I pulse slowly?

Yes, it is a static CMOS part - just make sure no glitches can occur on the CLK.
Another prop should be fine.

It should, as long as you're not using any of the PLLs.
