My problem with the S2 is that it is simply too good a product. It has built in wheel encoders, sound, line sensors, object sensors, and light sensing. At least the S1 required hacking to add wheel encoders.
I prefer something more unfinished. If Parallax created an S3 kit which included hobby plywood, scroll saw templates, wood glue, electronic components, vero-board, and connecting wire, I'd be the first customer in line.
The S2 is excellent at what is designed to do. I have a few other bots, but I miss the S2. She was far more sophisticated and reliable than any bot I ever built
