There was talk about an object that was supposed to go into the OBEX, but I can't find it.
Has anyone worked on this?

Tubular talked about his object in it.
I also asked the question in the last post of that thread:

Not sure if Roy was using the HL1606 in this video:
I believe the early Sparkfun strips were HL1606. Sure looks a lot like the one I have.

Cool video ... ask Roy?
Playing with RGB LED strips is on my TODO list.
Will PM Roy.
All the HS1606 strip seem to falling of the wayside. The WSXXXX chips seem to be in favor, and the TM1803, (as long as the Radio Shack clearance inventory holds out).
Those also look like the ones I have which are WS2801 strips (from SparkFun).
I'm not sure, but I think by the time Roy made that video, SparkFun was selling WS2801 strips.
I've played with a lot of the RGB LEDs but I haven't used HL1606.
From the link Bill gave, it sure looks like Tubular was going to post some LED code to the OBEX but the two OBEX entries from Tubular are sine wave generators.
You might want to send him a PM.
Believe me, I've been through the OBEX and all Tubular's posts. He said it was going to make it into the OBEX, but I guess it did not.
I've been known to forget to do things sometimes.
