Ebay is asking its users to reset their passwords due to the unauthorized access to our corporate information network. This may result in a delay of service due to the high traffic volume. We ask for your patience and that you return to eBay soon. In the meantime, please be assured that no activity can occur on your account until your password is reset.

Maybe that's why I didn't get a response like erco's.

My biggest fear is that some cyber hacker may get better Ebay deals than I do, before I do!

Guess it happened two months ago...
Actually, I am pleased to see that they are asking users to change their passwords if they believe there is a security problem for that user. I guess they are not asking everyone. (In other words Erco, you might have been hacked.)
I just opened this accout a few weeks ago and thought that EBay might be selective about the password change. But it seems now they want everyone to comply. IOW, ignore at your own risk.
I don't think its selective. I changed mine on Wed and now its asking me to change my password today.
From what I can tell only passwords were encrypted, phone numbers, addresses, DOB ect were not.
