Hi,
I need to go the cheapest way but i am still curious as to the differences. The Color Pal is a cheap camera about ohh..$14 and it can pick up colours, so could that sensor be used to pick up on a red snooker ball or does it have to be larger like a red t-shirt ?

The two distance sensors as far as i can see are IR and the ulta sonic. I imagine by the price the ultrasonic might do a better job of sensing distance. The IR distance sensor talked about triangulation but this docent mean i need more than one for front and one for back ? The IR is much less pricy .

Now the Wide Angle PIR Sensor....... it senses motion but from what i gathered only motion from something warm, a pet or a person. It would not detect motion from say a robot or a ping pong ball ? ?

The ColorPAL is not really a camera, but a color sensor. It can pick up ambient light, but is made to used in very close proximity to an object to determine it's color. It's only on sale today for 12.99 US. It's normally $19.99 US

The PING has a larger range than the IR detector. It's range is 1" to 10' (2 cm to 3 m). The Sharp IR sensor only has a range of 3.9" to 31.5" (10 cm to 80 cm).

The PING is easier to use as it is a digital output easily read by a BS2. The IR has an Analog output.
