ProprScope low voltage accuracey?

Ive recently been working on a project driving a DAC, im sending signals to an opamp from the DAC in the mV/uV range. at 100mv divisions my scope always seems to read -4mV and -1mv on channel one and two with no probes plugged in. I opened the scope and noticed a few trimmers next to the BNC connectors, will adjusting these allow me to calibrate the scope with a precision voltage reference, or is there always going to be trouble in the mV range?
Secondly im wondering how good the supplied probes are? would buying a nicer set of probes make any difference is noise, etc, or are these probes doing an adequate job?
