Really small displays

I was wondering if anyone is making really small alphanumeric or pixellated displays? I need something to display a number a little like you would find on a pair of digital calipers.
I've found some pretty small oled modules but I'd prefer LCD for battery life reasons.
Obviously needs to interface relatively easily with the propeller.
Cheers,
Graham

I've recently bought a couple cheap little oled displays from ebay. As this was my first time lokking into oled I did some research.
What I've found is that unless you set a lot a pixel on full brightness at the same time, oled actually uses less power then lcd.
Because I was looking to make a handheld device, working of a single small LiPO cell battery and thought OLED was the most power friendly option.
Am I wrong in this?

Another option is an LCD display like the one on the Freedom KL46Z (http://www.bot-thoughts.com/2014/03/freescale-frdm-kl46z-board.html). I'm not sure where they got that part, but I'd start my search at Digi-Key.

Thanks, I checked the datasheet for the Freedom board and it lists the module, it's this one:

I'll have a better look at the mouser site and probably digikey as well. This one would be OK, one with serial would be even better.
Phil,
yep, e-ink would be lovely but I've not found a really small one yet.

Graham
Do you have anything for show-n-tell?
Ever the optimist - let us know if you do find a serial one in that size.

Here's a link to a different one - you could browse around for alternates here too (some guys at work bought via this site and it worked out ok):

I'll see if I can dig out a Propeller project on my old computer and share this week-end.
The most recent one I did was a 4 channel logic analyzer, but that was based on another brand of microcontroller.
(the one I copied from is easy to find on Google)

It's a pretty awesome display that sips very little current.
