    Nice Find!

I have a project in mind that could benefit from these, but they sure are pricey.

56v? That's a lot. Check out 12v LiFe motorcycle batteries, much cheaper and easier to work with.

It may be 74 . I remember its in the 70s . sadly as its * up there * .. not super easy to build DC DC buck converters for it . and its just a tad low to use a off the rack 90-250 V SMPS as a COTS buck converter .

I do know its LiFePO4 as valence tech whom made the cells for Segway inc was one of the first to use it in a commercial application * A123 / Dewalt also is one large user of LiFePO4 in its early days *

Funny, I thought the same thing when I saw the new Kobalt 40v (36) lithium ion lawn mower at Lowes. It also has two batteries and the dual charger/rating. I think converting one of these cordless mowers over to RC would be a nice project. Tough at $399.

Although its expensive it does look cool - perhaps the battery itself could be the robot chassis, if there's
enough scope for safely drilling extra mounting holes in the plastic....
