Open source Propeller IDE

In the latest Spin Zone(Nuts and Volts May 2014) JonnyMac refers to the open source Propeller IDE. It is intended to replace the Propeller Tool (not part of SImpleIDE). He suggests it might be available very soon. This slipped under my radar and I haven't been able to find any info about it in the forums. Does anyone know the status of this? I am a SPIN fan, and this looks like an easy tool to use.

There are really two pieces to the IDE, the IDE itself which is a modified version of SimpleIDE and an open-source version of the Spin compiler / assembler known as "openspin". I think it's already being packaged with SimpleIDE and that's what you'll get if you download. I use the Mac version 0.9.45 and it includes "openspin".
