I can not find a link to the Rover 5 chassis that has been offered for sale by Parallax. Has it been discontinued?

Looks like they are out of stock or discontinued:

I don't show them as discontinued in our system, but I can check into it further.

Apologies, I didn't know how to properly read the status in our system. Jessica just schooled me (educated me) on this though :innocent: and it seems I was wrong. We're not getting more of these in stock. I am trying to see if we can better reflect that versus products that are simply out of stock on our website.

I was going to say something about this earlier and didn't, but now that you've brought it up... "Product not available" isn't very informative at all. I hope you can get this changed to state either "Discontinued" or "Out of stock" (granted there may be times when an item's status is undecided).

@George Sutton, just google Dagu Rover 5, I think you'll find other places that have it in stock though maybe not at the same price.

I didn't do a search myself, but I remember from previous searches the Rover 5 is availble from SparkFun and HobbyKing. I don't know of any places off hand who have the cool grey version Parallax sold. SparkFun still sells the 4WD version and HobbyKing sells a 2WD version.

From what I've read, the two motor version works fine with the treads. The four motor version also works well with treads and the four motor version is required if you want to add Mecanum wheels to the robot.

Those who have been around the forum may recall my fumbling initial attempts to keep the treads from coming off the Rover 5. While I ended up modifying the wheels on my Rover 5, it is not a necessary modification.

Thanks to all for the replies. I was interested since Parallax has the best support. I really want the Wild Thumper but it aint happening anytime soon.
