This ruling effectively lifts the ban on the commercial operation of small unmanned aircraft, those aircraft that would otherwise meet the description of a model aircraft.

    Yup, of course they did. I predict that the decision will be upheld and that the FAA will take steps to make their 'policy' into law which will take a few years, during which time their 'policy' will remain unenforceable.

    I think the FAA doesn't make laws, they make airspace. That judge is a pilot? No. When that judge gets his private pilot certificate I'll take what he says under advisement (lol). Until then he can sit in his chair and try to make sense of what actually goes on in the NAS.
